What we collect

Enquiries and quotes: your name, phone number, email address, postcode or town, details of the job and any photos you choose to send.
Reviews: the name, town, rating and review you submit, and an optional email address (never published).
Calls, emails and WhatsApp messages: the details you share with us.
Jobs we carry out: the property address, notes about access and the waste paperwork we must keep by law.
Website visits: the page visited, date and time, the website that referred you, your IP address and browser type. We use this to understand which pages are useful and to keep the site secure.

How and why we use it

To reply to you and give you a quote (steps taken at your request before a contract).
To carry out and invoice the clearance you book (performing our contract with you).
To keep records we must keep by law, such as waste documentation and accounts (legal obligation).
To run and protect the website, for example visitor statistics and blocking spam (legitimate interests).

We never sell your information, and we will not send you marketing unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the business, such as our website host, email provider and accountant, and licensed waste facilities where the law requires it. Enquiries sent through this website are emailed to our team so we can reply.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: deleted within 24 months.
Records of jobs, invoices and waste paperwork: as long as the law requires, usually six years.
Website visit records, including IP addresses: deleted automatically after 90 days.
Blocked spam submissions: deleted after 60 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it or ask us to stop using it. Email info@scottishhouseclearance.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
